when i bought my sno pro 600 from a racing team, it was a back up practise sled that literly was never used. i think i have around 300 miles on the beast now. well the track is studded on it and i dont think i really want studs as i dont ride on ice or trails and i tend to get rode over by the sled once a year:cry:. so my question is should i leave the studs in the track or take them out. it i take them out, how would the track life be? what should i sell them for? thier is about 120 i think. or should i leave them in for better traction. whats your guys take on this:bc2:

To stud or not to stud is a preference issue. I have always studded my tracks because every time I ride a non studded track, I feel it takes me longer to brake and stop the machine. For me it is purely a safety issue. It does help in the hole shot as well.

As far as removing them, I have never done it but have several buddies that have. For the most part, the track seems to give up the ghost quicker when the studs are removed. I think the guys out west have less problems because they are not trying to hook up on groomies. Their tracks are spinning free through the powder so they don't put the stress on them that us midwestern riders tend to.

Just my opinion. :c-n:

I also have a 600 Sno pro and when I got it the gave me an extra track and I thought I would pull the studs out of 1 and leave the other one studed . But because it had 2" studs with tall aluminum nuts I could only get half the studs out Because they were all bent ! And I striped half of all the Allen key holes in the studs .
